Grounded care for body, mind and spirit

Holistic Reflexology with Care in Central Surrey

Over the last fifteen years working as a nurse, I’ve become increasingly aware of the interconnectedness of life, and how we can not separate the physical, emotional and spiritual parts of us. As a result of this I have trained to be a clinical reflexologist and am passionate about delivering holistic complementary therapy. I offer personalised and friendly reflexology treatments from a clinic in West Horsley. First sessions will include a brief ten minute medical assessment. I also offer a safe space for all members of the LGBTQ+ community.

I have a level 5 diploma in clinical reflexology and am registered with the Association of Reflexology (AOR) and the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC).

My Approach to Reflexology

The theory of reflexology is that it stimulates nerve endings on your feet which send messages to the spinal cord, brain, organs and muscles. It is an ancient practise that dates back thousands of years. The aim is to provide deep relaxation, stress relief and homeostasis or balance to the body, mind and soul by massaging pressure points on your feet. Each session will be personalised to the individual and last approximately fifty minutes although this can be tailored to need as well.

Aftercare

Reflexology is a relaxing, complementary therapy aimed to help reduce stress and promote wellbeing and balance in the body. Most people after treatment experience a feeling of peace and calm, while some feel energised.

The healing response is a positive reaction post treatment, which can sometimes happen, occasionally causing symptoms to feel worse, experiencing temporary discomfort, headaches, or an emotional release. This is thought to be due to the body releasing toxins and the stimulation of nerve endings in particular areas. These feelings should pass after 24 hours. Increased urination and opening your bowels after treatment is common as the body flushes out toxins and waste products. Following these aftercare tips should help to try to lessen or prevent these symptoms;

  • Drink plenty of fluids (ideally just water) to flush out the toxins. Daily fluid intake should be up to 2 litres unless told otherwise by a health professional or your reflexologist. This amount should be over 24 hours and not quickly in a few hours.
  • Avoid drinking caffeine and alcohol as much as possible as these introduce more toxins into the body.
  • Avoid strenuous exercise for at least 12 hours.
  • Try to support your digestive system by eating light, fresh food.
  • Try to rest as much as you can to allow your body time for self healing.

"I was incredibly impressed with the way Dru connected with my daughter, who has profound autism. She tuned into her unique style of communication very quickly and provided reflexology in a beautifully responsive and respectful way. Dru also noticed right away that my daughter is drawn to soft textures and thoughtfully brought a familiar blanket to each session, this helped my daughter recognise that therapy was about to begin and made her feel safe and comfortable.

Dru is exceptionally kind, patient, and intuitive. I would highly recommend her as a therapist who is truly responsive to individual needs."

Gill Gillard

"I recently had a reflexology session with Dru, and it was absolutely incredible. From the moment I arrived, Dru made me feel relaxed, cared for, and completely at ease. Her gentle yet confident touch and intuitive understanding of the body created such a deep sense of calm and balance. I left feeling lighter, more grounded, and with a renewed sense of energy.

Dru has such a beautiful, healing presence — she truly has a gift. I can’t recommend her highly enough to anyone needing relaxation, restoration, or simply a moment of peace."

Julie Measom

"I would highly recommend Dru as a clinical reflexologist. She has a warm, welcoming spiritual personality giving treatment in a thoughtful, intelligent and caring way. Her reflexology has been wonderful, leaving me feeling relaxed and helping me to sleep and feel less stressed and anxious with everyday life."
